About Sana

 

SANA FATIMA

Sana Fatima is an Associate Lawyer with Beamish Law.


Before joining Beamish Law, Sana articled with the Canadian Civil Liberties Association, where she worked in criminal justice, fundamental freedoms, privacy law, and equality law. She has also served as a Rule of Law Intern at the United Nations Department of Peacekeeping Operations and a Legal Intern for the Department of Justice.

Sana played a key role in organizing the inaugural “Our Charter, Our Rights” conference, hosted by the Human Rights Research and Education Centre in Ottawa. This event united law students, academics, and activists from around the globe to advance discussions on Canada’s implementation of its international human rights obligations.

Driven by her passion for human rights, social justice, sustainability, and international law, Sana’s work reflects her commitment to these causes.

Sana is a member of the Association of Human Rights Lawyers, the Employment Lawyers Association of Ontario, and the Group of Racialized Women Litigators.

EDUCATION

Sana is a graduate of the English Common Law and National Program at the University of Ottawa, where she earned both a J.D. and an LL.L.. She also holds a degree from Ivey Business School at Western University and has completed Ivey’s Sustainability program.

PERSONAL
Outside of work, Sana enjoys reading, outdoor activities, and spending quality time with her family and friends.
